Arthur Shapiro has a blog where he discusses the science of optical illusions and the importance that has for researchers who study visual perception. Some illusions are quite jarring. Not for epileptics!

- I like to throw around words like "art" and "design" as though I know what they mean. The same is true for the interchangeable way I describe my self as "artist" or "designer" I can only say that they both seem to have something to do with observing and making. That is what I do.
